The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 400 scientists from 44 countries. The CRG is composed by an interdisciplinary, motivated and creative scientific team which is supported both by a flexible and efficient administration and by high-end and innovative technologies.
In April 2021, the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) received the renewal of the 'HR Excellence in Research' Award from the European Commission. This is a recognition of the Institute's commitment to developing an HR Strategy for Researchers, designed to bring the practices and procedures in line with the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers (Charter and Code).
A new position is open for a technician at the CRG/UPF Proteomics Unit. The laboratory focuses on the identification, quantification and characterization of proteins by HPLC and ESI-based mass spectrometry. The duties associated with the position will mainly focus on sample handling, maintenance of HPLC and mass spectrometers, assessment of instrument performance, inventory check, laboratory purchases, and support to researchers.
About the team
The Proteomics Unit is a joint effort of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra and the Center of Genomic Regulation to create an innovative research infrastructure with a high-level of excellence and sustainability to support scientists in the biomedical field. The activities of the Proteomics Unit are focused onto the provision of high-quality proteomics services with strong added-value to the research community by offering state-of-the-art methods, advise and expertise to support basic and translational researchers, developing new methods and techniques that keep the unit up to date and at the forefront of the proteomics field and training the community and actively disseminating proteomics science and methods.
• You have previous experience in proteomics
• You have good skills with office automation and data analysis software
Education and training
• You hold Bachelor in Science on Chemistry, Biology, Pharmacy, Biochemistry or related disci-plines or “Cicle Formatiu de Grau Superior” in disciplines related to “Chemistry”
• You are proficient in English
• You have experience in mass spectrometry
• You have experience in liquid chromatography
• You have experience in biomedical/chemical research.
• You have analytical skills
• You have critical thinking
• You are cabable of working independently and in a team
The Offer – Working Conditions
• Contract duration: 1 year.
• Estimated annual gross salary: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and consistent with our pay scales.
• Target start date: June/July 2022.
