The Institute

The role

The successful candidate will lead a project aimed at understanding the role of regulatory variation in human diabetes.  He or she will also participate in computational genomic analysis training and will support grant applications. 

About the team/ lab/ department

The regulatory genomics and diabetes group studies genome regulation in pancreatic beta cells, and tries to the role of gene networks in differentiation and disease mechanisms. It is a multidisciplinary team that combines approaches such as genome engineering in model systems, single cell genomics, computational regulatory genomics and human genetics.  It is funded by an advanced ERC grant, CIBERDEM, Fundacio Marato TV3, Horizon 2020 and Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovacion y Universidades.

Whom would we like to hire?

  • You hold a PhD in Computational Biology, Human Genetics, Genomics, Bioinformatics or a related field
  • You have at least 8 years of postgraduate experience in computational genomics, statistical genetic analysis
  • You have a publication track record with a leading role in the abovementioned areas
  • You have a track record in teaching bioinformatics in postgraduate programmes.

The Offer

  • Contract duration: 2 year contract
  • Estimated annual gross salary: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and consistent with our pay scales.
  • Target start date: February 2019
