The role

The Computational Biology of RNA Processing Group of CRG is recruiting a Postdoc Researcher to work in a RIS3CAT-funded project aiming the valorization of the European Genome-phenome Archive (EGA) for Industry and Society. The principal duties of the postdoc will involve taking part in collaborative functional genomics projects for the benefit of public health and society (including benchmarking, processing and analysing omics tools/datasets) as well as disseminating the open ecosystem of computational biomedical technologies through training, courses and dissemination activities.

About the team/ lab/ department

The bulk of the research in the group currently focuses on the mechanisms underlying RNA production (transcription) and post-processing (splicing), and on the relationship between tissue transcriptomes and phenotypes, and it is increasingly incorporating high throughput and experimental approaches.

Whom would we like to hire?

Studies:

  • You hold a Doctorate in Computational Biology or similar

Experience:

  • You have experience in transcriptomics data analysis and visualization
  • You have teaching/training experience

Technical skills required:

  • You can program in different languages
  • You have skills in Statistics
  • You have experience in data visualization

Languages:

  • You are fluent in English

Soft skills:

  • You have an open personality and capable to easily interact with people of different scientific backgrounds

The Offer

  • Estimated annual gross salary: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and consistent with CRG’s pay scales.
  • Starting date: January 2019
