The Institute

The role

This team member will employ CRISPR and recombineering approaches, primarily in E. coli and C. elegans, to develop synthetic biology tools that enable high-precision longitudinal studies of aging.  This position is one of several new roles that will soon become available in the group.

About the team/ lab/ department

The Dynamics of Living Systems group is an interdisciplinary team based in CRG’s systems biology program.  Lab members combine molecular genetics, engineering, ‘omics, and statistical physics approaches to measure and model the physiologic dynamics of aging. 

Whom would we like to hire?

A motivated candidate interested in developing new molecular tools for studying complex systems.

Professional experience

Must Have

  • At least 1 year of experience in microbial synthetic biology
  • Practical experience with CRISPR and Lambda Red Systems
  • Fluency in English

Desirable but not required/ Nice to have

  • Experience in mathematical modelling
  • Experience in C. elegans nemaculture

Education and training

  • An interdisciplinary masters in biotechnology or an equivalent discipline.

The Offer

  • Contract duration: 1 year
  • Estimated annual gross salary: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and consistent with our pay scales.
  • Target start date: September 15, 2019
