The Institute

The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 400 scientists from 44 countries. The CRG is composed by an interdisciplinary, motivated and creative scientific team which is supported both by a flexible and efficient administration and by high-end and innovative technologies.

In April 2021, the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) received the renewal of the 'HR Excellence in Research' Award from the European Commission. The role

We are seeking for a highly motivated bioinformatician. The hired person will work on the development of bioinformatics tools and pipelines to analyze, integrate and visualize multi omics (transcriptomics, epigenomics, proteomics, functional genomics, translatomics).

The selected candidate will work at the CRG for 50% of the time, and at the UPF for the remaining 50%.

About the lab


The Sdelci Lab at the CRG is focused on understanding the role of chromatin-bound metabolic enzymes in epigenetic regulation during aggressive cancer development and progression.
This position is sponsored by ERC funding.

Professional experience

Must Have

• You have software development capabilities and experience with R/Bioconductor, Python, Perl
• You have strong analytical skills with robust understanding of statistical concepts
• You have experience analyzing MS/genomics/epigenomics/translatomics data
• You have deep knowledge in statistical data analysis

Desirable but not required/ Nice to have

• You have experience with AI

Education and training

• You hold a PhD in bioinformatics or related

The Offer – Working conditions

Contract duration: 1 year.
Estimated annual gross salary: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and consistent with our pay scales.
Target start date: No later than September 2021.

Selection Process

Pre-selection: The pre-selection process will be based on qualifications and expertise reflected on the candidates CVS. It will be merit-based.

Interview: Preselected candidates will be interviewed by the Hiring Manager of the position and a selection panel if required.

Offer Letter: Once the successful candidate is identified the Human Resources department will send a Job Offer, specifying the start day, salary, working conditions, among other important details.
