The Institute

The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 400 scientists from 44 countries. The role

The candidate will be in charge of benchmarking existing methods for the ab-initio prediction of protein 3D structures. This work will be used as a support for several ongoing projects within the group.
The candidate will be incorporated within the lab and will possibly be invited to contribute to other projects, on the basis of her/his expertise and interests.

About the team/ lab/ department

The lab is a relatively small – about ten members – interdisciplinary and highly collaborative structure. We specialise in the development of comparative methods for genomics data but also have a strong interest in the development of behavioural data comparisons and analysis. Two of our most visible output have been the T-Coffee multiple aligner and the Nextflow pipeline language.

Whom would we like to hire? 

Professional experience

Must Have

  • You have experience in the benchmarking of protein 3D ab-initio prediction
  • You have experience in the deployment of complex computations
  • You have notions of molecular dynamic

Desirable but not required/ Nice to have

  • You have experience in web development

Education and training

  • You hold a Master degree in Bioinformatics or related topics.

Languages

  • You are fluent in English

The Offer 

  • Contract duration: 1 year
  • Estimated annual gross salary: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and consistent with our pay scales.
  • Target start date: November 2019

Selection Process 

  • Pre-selection: The pre-selection process will be based on qualifications and expertise reflected on the candidates CVS. It will be merit-based.
  • Interview: Preselected candidates will be interviewed by the Hiring Manager of the position and a selection panel if required.
  • Offer Letter: Once the successful candidate is identified the Human Resources department will send a Job Offer, specifying the start day, salary, working conditions, among other important details.
